Abstract:- Wheat flour was used to substitute mushroom flour at the ratio of 70:30, 50:50, 30:70 and with spices (Alllium sativum) which concentration range from 5g, 10g, and 15g respectively. The cookies prepared without wheat flour and mushroom flour serves as positive control. The spread ratios were determined with a meter role. Total viable count, Staphylococcus, Bacillus and colliform count were determine using standard microbiological method and the effect of spices (Alllium sativum) concentration was measured. Consumer preference or otherwise are also determine using a taste panel list. The main quality score of microbial count of the cookies ranges at, 70:30 (1.0x103, 8.0x102 and 6.0x102 cfu for total viable count) (1.5x103, 1.2.x103 and 9.0x102 cfu for fungal count) (1.6x103, 1.2x103 and 1.0x103 cfu for Bacillus count) (1.7x103, 1.6x103, and 1.4x103 cfu for Staphylococcus count) (no count for colliform). At the range of 50:50 (1.3x103, 1.0x103 and 8.0x102 cfu for total viable count) (1.3x103, 1.0x103 and 8.0x102 cfu for Bacillus) (1.85x103,1.65x103 and 1.50x103 cfu for Staphylococcus count). At the range of 30:70 (2.0x103, 1.5x103 and 1.0x103 cfu for total viable) (1.1x103, 9.0x102 and 7.0x102 cfu for fungi count) (1.85x103, 1.50x103, and 1.20x103 cfu for Bacillus count) ( 2.0x103, 1.6x103 and 1.0x103 cfu for Staphylococcus count). The physical quality parameter indicates a range of spread ratio 70:30; 1.283x103, 1.266x103 and 1.250x103, 50:50, (1.250x103, 1.216x103 and 1.183x103). As the spice concentration increases in the order of 5g, 10g and 15g respectively. The main quality sensory score of the cookies ranges of 70:30, colour (5.0, 4.5 and 4.0), flavour (5.0, 4.5 and 4.0), taste (4.5, 4.0 and 3.5), overall acceptability (5.0, 4.0 and 3.5). The range of 50:50, colour (4.5, 4.0 and 3.5), flavour, (4.5, 4.0 and 4.0), taste (3.5, 3.0 and 3.0), overall acceptability (4.0, 3.5 and 3.5).At the range of 30:70, colour (4.0. 3.0 and 2.5), flavour (3.0, 3.0 and 3.0), taste (3.0, 3.0 and 3.0), overall acceptability (3.5, 3.0 and 3.0).

Abstract:- Bacteria are present everywhere in the environment..The aim of the present study is to isolate the air borne bacteria & to check their inhibition by natural plant extracts of Lemon leaves(Citrus limon), Tea leaves(Camelia sinensis) and Ashoka leaves(Saraca asoca). Air borne bacteria were isolated from the Amity University Lucknow campus & were also characterized. Antimicrobial activity was checked using well diffusion method. Plant extracts were prepared from Acetone, Propanol, Methanol & Water. Methanol extract [1] of Saraca asoca was found to be most active against gram positive, anaerobic bacteria giving zone of inhibition of 20mm. It was also found that water extract of Citrus limon was most effective against gram negative, endospore producing, anaerobic bacteria with zone of inhibition of 17mm.

Abstract:- Background: Black women are nearly three times as likely as white women to develop uterine fibroids during the childbearing period and usually presents multiple and very large uterine fibroids. Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the adnexal adhesions formation after abdominal myomectomy among African women. Settings and design: Retrospective and descriptive study conducted at Yaounde General Hospital, Cameroon during the period of January 2004 to December 2009. Materials and methods: We reviewed 140 cases of childbearing desirous women who underwent second-look laparoscopy after an abdominal myomectomy at Yaounde General Hospital. Results: Adnexal adhesions were present in 123 (87.85%) patients. The posterior uterine wall incision was associated with more adhesions formation than those on the fundus or anterior wall (100% vs 81.82% vs 88.89%; P 0.035). Myomectomies performed on uterus larger than 14 weeks gestation resulted in significantly higher adhesion scores (22.76% vs 03.25%; P 0.000). The existence of more than two uterine incisions and the presence of adhesions prior to myomectomy were found to result in more severe adhesions (23.57% vs 2.43%; 20.32% vs 2.43%; P 0.000). Conclusions: African women have high incidence of post operative adhesions formation following myomectomy. It will be attractive to evaluate also in these African women the efficacy of a resorbable hydrogel for reduction of post-myomectomy adhesions.

Abstract:-Nocardia is an uncommon pathogen in immunocompetent patients; however, it has been increasingly recognized as a significant opportunistic pathogen in immunocompromised individuals. A 35 year old male patient presented with fever and multiple erythematous swellings over right supraclavicular and post auricular region. The swellings were with multiple discharging sinuses. Patient is a known case of miliary tuberculosis and is HIV seropositive. Gram stain of pus showed presence of slender, gram positive, branching, filamentous bacilli. Modified Ziehl Neelsen stain revealed numerous acid fast branching filamentous organisms with beaded appearance. On culture the isolate was identified as Nocardia asteroides.

Abstract:- Compaction of multiparticulate, commonly called MUPS, is one of the more recent and challenging technologies that combine the advantages of both tablets and pellet-filled capsules in one dosage form. Venlafaxine is an anti depressant, having an elimination half-life of 5±2 hrs and its maximum daily dose is 300mg. Since the drug belongs to BCS class I, it is necessary to retard dissolution to ensure extended release of drug. The objective of the study is to prepare venlafaxine extended release pellets by extrusion spheronization technology, coating them with mixture of rate controlling polymers Ethyl cellulose and different grades of (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) using Wurster process to achieve the desired dissolution pattern and compressing the pellets into tablets. The pellets were analyzed for the parameters such as bulk density, tapped density, compressibility index, Hausner’s ratio and the results were found to be within the limits. Drug release rate was more when compared with the innovator sample. The Venlafaxine hydrochloride extended release pellets were compressed into the tablets. The dissolution profile of the prepared Venlafaxine hydrochloride extended release tablets were compared with that of Innovator (VENLAR). Finally conclude like extended release pellets in tablets of formulation (F9) have more drug release rate rather than innovator (VENLAR) and it have better Bioavailability.
