ABSTRACT: Nasopharyngeal angiofibromas are rare, benign, non encapsulated tumours originating in the nasopharynx. They constitute only 0.05percent of all head and neck tumours.Histologically similar tumours originating in the sites other the nasopharynx are termed extranasopharyngeal angiofibromas. They are considered as extremely rare tumours. High index of suspicion is very much necessary as they behave clinically different from nasopharyngeal angiofibromas. Here, we report a case of angiofibroma originating from the maxillary sinus in a 27 year old male patient. Surgical excision was done with complete relief of all the symptoms.
KEYWORDS: angiofibroma; extranasopharyngeal angiofibroma(ENA); maxillary sinus, incidence; vascular neoplasm, excision; biopsy; Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma(NA).
